Reaching our readers

CREATE MORE FLOW is a growing independent general news publication, read by people who come for business, economy, entertainment, health, politics, science, sports, technology, and world coverage. They are engaged, they read to the end, and they trust the environment their advertising sits in. Advertising is what keeps this site free to read, and we are glad to sell it, on terms that keep the journalism worth advertising against.

This page is the honest version of a sales pitch. It says what we offer, what we will not do, and how the relationship works, because an advertiser who knows the rules going in is one we can keep for years rather than for one awkward campaign.

What we offer

  • Programmatic display. Most of our inventory is filled through advertising exchanges, with standard display formats across the site and its sections. This is the efficient way to reach our audience at scale.
  • Direct display. For advertisers who want a guaranteed presence or a specific section, we sell placements directly. Talk to us about run of site, section sponsorship, and share of voice.
  • Sponsored content. Clearly labelled sponsored articles, produced to be useful rather than to masquerade as our reporting. The label is not negotiable, and the rules are below.
  • Newsletter sponsorship. A clean, single sponsor placement in newsletters that go to readers who chose to receive them.

For rates, availability, and specifications, write to support@createmoreflow.com with ADVERTISING at the front of the subject line, and tell us who you are, what you want to promote, and the rough budget and timing. That lets us answer in one reply rather than five.

The line we do not cross

Buying advertising buys you space next to our journalism. It does not buy the journalism. This is the whole basis of the relationship, so we state it flatly:

  • No advertiser sees a story before it is published, gets to review it, or gets to soften or kill it.
  • Advertising does not buy favourable coverage, and withholding it does not buy immunity. If you are in the news, we cover you as we would anyone else.
  • When we report on a company that advertises with us, the story is handled by editors on ordinary terms, and the commercial relationship changes nothing about how it is written.
  • We will not pull or edit accurate coverage because an advertiser objects, and the request may itself become something we report. Our corrections policy is about accuracy, not about advertiser comfort.

None of this is us being difficult. An audience reads us because it trusts us, and the moment that trust is for sale, the audience is worth nothing to you either.

Labelling and sponsored content

Anything paid for is labelled clearly and honestly, so no reader can mistake it for independent editorial. Sponsored content carries a plain label such as sponsored or paid, it identifies the advertiser, and it is written and presented so the distinction is obvious at a glance, not hidden in small type at the bottom. Our own editorial team does not lend its independent voice to paid work, and the separation of news from commercial material is part of our editorial standards.

Affiliate links, where we use them, are disclosed, and they never dictate a recommendation. How they fit into our revenue is explained on our ownership and funding page.

What we will not run

We turn down advertising, and we would rather lose the revenue than run something that damages readers or the site. We refuse, among other things:

  • scams, fraud, deceptive get rich schemes, and anything with hidden or dishonest terms;
  • malware, deceptive download buttons, and creative that tries to trick a reader into clicking;
  • political advertising that hides who is paying for it;
  • advertising that is illegal where our readers are, or that promotes hatred, discrimination, or harm;
  • advertising aimed at children, and creative that has no business sitting beside sensitive news;
  • disruptive formats such as automatic sound, pop ups that trap the reader, or anything that hijacks the page.

We keep the right to refuse or remove any advertisement, for these reasons or others, and we do not have to explain a refusal beyond pointing at this list.

Privacy, data, and getting started

Advertising on this site involves third party cookies and identifiers, governed by consent, and readers can refuse personalised advertising and still read everything. How that works is set out in our cookie policy and our privacy policy, and as an advertising partner you agree to respect those choices and the applicable rules. To start a conversation, write to support@createmoreflow.com with ADVERTISING in the subject. We read every enquiry, and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit for what you are trying to do.
